“As a result of a severe horse-riding accident which ended up with a total knee replacement, the pain and discomfort was very traumatic. I could not sleep, walk, sit comfortably or settle down at all. The first treatment of cold laser therapy gave me a couple of hours pain relief, and my first good night’s sleep. I had 5 sessions which helped me through the most painful times, I slept most nights, it got more comfortable sitting in a chair, walking short distances. “I had a serious accident after loading a car on my trailer, I fell over the winch rope and ended up between the trailer and tilt bed system, I heard a ripping noise come from my left leg and when I tried to move the pain was horrific, I did get back to work and ended up in York hospital, they wanted to put me in pot telling me I had ripped the top of my calf muscle off and only two ways to sort it, one was an operation or let it mend over 8 to 10 weeks. “When I first met Clare I had undergone surgery to re-construct my collarbone following a skiing accident 8 months previously. My shoulder had become frozen and I was unable to use my right arm to do simple tasks, like raise a glass to my lips, without assistance from my left hand. “I had a hip resurfacing on my left leg in December 2008. The operation was successful but post-op I had a lot of persistent swelling which delayed my rehabilitation and recovery. I had the same operation on my right hip in June 2010. This time, I had laser therapy immediately after the operation, the decrease in swelling and bruising was very noticeable following the treatment and enabled me to progress with my rehabilitation much quicker. “Twisted my back slightly while turning to pass through a narrow space. Although I only felt a slight twinge at the time, by the following day I was in extreme pain as I had caught my sciatic nerve.
